This position is responsible for providing administrative and staff support duties for the School of Design and Construction ( SDC ) under the direction of the Administrative Manager. Duties include internal and external activities, special project coordination and administrative support. This position will also provide project management support to the team to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.

This position supports the Director with professional level assignments and coordinates work with other areas; establishes and maintains schedules and priorities; prepares correspondence, reports, travel itineraries etc. Reviews and researches operating procedures and problems and develops solutions and/or recommendations.

This position has delegated authority to act in the absence of the Administrative Manager in areas of substance.

Required Qualifications
One year of experience as an Administrative Assistant 1 OR a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, or closely allied field and two years of responsible office experience at the senior clerical level or higher.
Clerical or office work experience may be substituted for education on a year-for-year basis. Graduate study may substitute for experience on a year for year basis.

Additional Requirements
• Experience with fiscal documents and financial records.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including command of English language.
• Two years of customer service/providing reception at a busy office.

Preferred Qualifications
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of WSU policies, procedures, and software.
