The Inside Sales Specialist (ISS) will interact with current and prospective customers within the local market to provide support for business relationships and assist sales staff with activities aimed at achieving Elastomeric Material Solutions (EMS) business growth and revenue targets. The position will provide service to EMS customers in the areas of sample requests and initial business inquiries.
The position is responsible for the qualification of inbound leads and opportunities and distribution of such to the appropriate sales resource based on territory and product line responsibility. The ISS will be responsible for Customer Sample fulfillment which includes entry, tracking, and follow-up. In order to effectively assist current and potential customers, the ISS will require an understanding of products, product characteristics, and required specifications.
For this role we desire someone with an interest in developing sales skills for potential future outside sales roles.
Direct account responsibility - Create contacts, build rapport and communicate with selected accounts not supported by the outside sales team on a regular basis to maintain and grow EMS business. Provide timely response to customer inquiries and requests for product or technical information, pricing, delivery, or other requests.
Field incoming customer inquiries (Rogers Solution Center) – Provide timely responses to technical questions, requests for product recommendations or sample materials. Review, qualify and assign grade to all incoming leads and disseminate to appropriate Sales Engineers or other appropriate EMS resource for follow-up.
Enter customer sample requests from customers, EMS Sales engineers, and other departments into the Rogers CRM system. Assure that the requests are entered into the system in a timely (typically same day) manner, and that all information required for effective follow-up is captured.

Required Education and Experience:
B.S. Degree in Engineering, Business/Marketing or relevant field
Ability to work in a highly technical environment with demonstrated ability to work effectively without direct supervision
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially phone skills
Excellent computer skills; Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Preferred Education and Experience:
Experience using CRM tools and reporting functions
Experience building and nurturing new and existing customer relationships
Experience analyzing data and identifying areas for improvement
This position requires some travel for company-related business activities
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Hours of work and days vary by shift
Employees are expected to work 8 - 12 hours per shift, in accordance with their assigned shift. As dictated by business needs, ability to work overtime and maintain flexibility with work schedule may be required.
