Provides day-to-day administration and management of information security control measures. Supports Office of Information Assurance (OIA) in the development of information security policy, standards and guidelines. Updates our current suite of information security policies, standards and guidelines to ensure compliance with State and Federal compliance requirements such as MARS-E, HIPAA, and SCDIS. Performs information security risk management and continuous monitoring strategy that integrates vulnerability and threat assessment activities to ITS and ES Operations. Enhances information security awareness training to ensure all Agency personnel receive security awareness training relevant to their job duties. Facilitates audit and compliance support activities to ensure that information systems are operating in compliance with State and Federal requirements. Matures existing incident response management activities to ensure the Agency effectively responds to security and privacy incidents in a consistent manner to minimize impact to system and business operations.

Minimum and Additional Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in information technology experience, computer science, or related field and two (2) years of experience in information technology systems or related area. Relevant experience may be substituted for bachelor's degree on a year-for-year basis.

Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.

Additional Requirements:
Overtime and/or weekend work may be required.
Sitting or standing for long periods of time.
Lifting requirements 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Must be able make independent decisions and exercise sound judgment. Must be able to function in an organization that utilizes a matrix management structure. Excellent written and verbal communications skills. Security and privacy related certifications such as: CompTIA, ISC(2), SANS GIAC or similar. Experience administering access control within information systems. Experience with vulnerability and/or penetration testing tools and techniques. Experience supporting end-user computing devices. Experience performing or supporting information security threat assessments and audits.
