Quality Control Scientist at PAN AMERICAN GRAIN in Arecibo September 2017

Pan American Grain is seeking for a experienced individual to be our Quality Control Scientist who will help us aligned most of the method transfer documentation. Also, the scientist will support the evaluation of the Shimadzu documentation and instrumentation protocols. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge and experience of method development using GCFID and HPLC instruments, which includes but not limited to: calibration builds, knowledge of QC/QA procedures, pipetting techniques, data analysis/reporting, and laboratory management. This position effectively performs activities as directed from the Chemical Compliance Manager to ensure quality and compliance with applicable regulatory requirements relating to controlled substances and FDA drug submissions.

Essential Duties:

  • Work with the analysis on the initial evaluation of the methods to be transferred.
  • Evaluate adequacy of the method for the QC environment.
  • Challenge method validation data to ensure meet current standards.
  • Evaluate protocols received (analytical and instrumentation) to ensure meets Company expectations.
  • Ensure that methods are or can be aligned with Company procedures.
  • Prepare protocols and reports for Method Transfer, Qualification, Verification and Validation (including deviations).
  • Contact and communicate to the external vendors/suppliers technical aspects.
  • Provide technical support to others Company functional areas (as needed).
  • Recommend changes to methods received, if needed.
  • Provide final recommendations to the transferred methods.
  • Issue and provide update to methods tracking table.
  • Inform major issues or constraints to the Chemical Compliance Manager.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA in the Sciences (preferably Biological Science, Organic Chemistry or Pharmacology).
  • 5 yrs experience in audited/regulated laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of Federal DEA and State of MO regulations involving controlled substances and Listed Chemicals.
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing practices, validation methods, inspection, and testing methodologies.
  • Strong organizational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Access, Outlook).
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and trade associations.
  • Fully Bilingual, English and Spanish
  • Must be willing to travel.
