POSITION SUMMARY : The Receptionist is responsible for providing front line customer service in person and by phone to refer customers to the appropriate office or staff, and to perform other related clerical duties.
Education: High School graduate or equivalent.
Experience: A minimum of one (1) year experience of receptionist work with a multi line phone system; healthcare experience preferred.
Additional requirements: May be required to work some flexible hours and occasional overtime.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Provides customer service for all internal and external contacts, either by phone or in person. Serves as the main telephone receptionist. Greets people as they enter the agency, answers general information questions, directs visitors, and delivers messages. Checks in visitors according to current procedures. Receives, dates, and distributes incoming mail. Assists Arkansas Hospice accounting staff with logging in money received in the mail according to current procedure. Distributes mail after the accounting process is complete. Keeps the reception lobby and desk area clean and orderly. Supports the organization with clerical services as needed. Such duties may include: Photocopying Data entry and obituary logs for volunteer scrapbooks Mailings, stuffing envelopes, outgoing payables checks Other similar clerical duties Serves as the check-in contact for evacuation and shelter-in-place drills/emergencies. Maintains the visitor list and emergency sign in sheet during both types of drills/emergencies. Maintains strict confidentiality at all times. Utilizes and models excellent customer service skills at all times; seeks opportunities to assist patients, families and co-workers; demonstrates teamwork and cooperation. Accepts direction and follows instructions from supervisor; seeks additional information as needed; works with minimal supervision. Adheres to all organizational and departmental policies and procedures. Continually meets organizational standards for attendance and punctuality; notifies supervisor in a timely manner when employee will be absent or late for work. Attends all required meetings and inservices; seeks opportunities for additional professional development activities as appropriate.
