Under the direction of the Electrical lead, perform lighting maintenance electrical work on all types of fixtures inside and outside of buildings.
Under the direction of the Electrical lead, perform lighting maintenance electrical work on all types of fixtures inside and outside of buildings.
Perform interior and exterior work which includes:
• Repair and perform alteration to light fixtures.
• Retrofit all types of lighting fixtures.
• Troubleshoot and changing of ballasts and/or drivers. Changing of lamps and/or LED boards.
• Install all types of light sensors and photocells.
• Maintain inventory and perform inventory count twice a year.
• Adjust/repair/replace switches and remote low voltage control systems for lighting on 120V, 277V
• Interpret standard blueprints
• Operate machinery such as pallet jacks and scissor-lifts.
Load and unload materials and supplies.
• Keep foreman and supervisors informed of project status and work progress, required project materials and equipment.
• Work with all trades efficiently.
• Provide excellent customer service through effective, courteous and professional interactions with clients, colleagues and the community.
Actively participate in meetings and training as scheduled.
• Interpret standard blueprints
• Utilize proper tools and methods to safely remove tube, bulb, etc.; clean up glass from broken lighting tubes, bulbs, etc. to ensure the safety of students, staff and visitors.
• Experience using equipment (man lift, scissor lift, boom type trucks, etc.)
• Working knowledge and skills of lockout/tagout procedures.
• Trouble shoot lighting problems.
• Maintain cleanliness in electrical rooms.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications
Must have 07A license or higher.
Knowledge of National Electrical Code ( NEC ) and all other local codes and ordinances. Demonstrates successful ability in taking direction, working well with others and as a member of a team. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, must have manual dexterity in both hands; must use protective clothing, safety equipment and respirators Must be able to work in a smoke-free environment. May be required to accept variable work shift. Ability to lift and move heavy materials is required. Must be able to move and use appropriate ladder for the job. Work may require access to confined spaces and heights using appropriate safety procedures. Current Washington State driver’s license. MUST meet SU driver requirements at all times.

Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge and practical experience with WISHA and OSHA regulations. Demonstrated successful experience with basic computer technology.
